Thankfully, in all the weddings I’ve been to in the past year I had a dress that was picked for me. It took all of the stress out of getting ready and getting prepared for the events. That was because I was a bridesmaid in all 3. However, with wedding season rapidly approaching, I wanted to share what I think is the perfect wedding guest dress. I wore this dress to the Create & Cultivate conference back in January and got so many compliments on it, that [I bought it in black too] and I had to share it. The color is dark, however, this particular plum color is sold out, however I have linked a couple of other colors! This color would be perfect for a night time wedding. I am also linking some similar ones that aren’t as dark for a daytime wedding. Weddings are always tough to dress for, you can’t wear white, and you don’t want to be under dressed or over dressed, however usually the couple’s invite or wedding website has guidelines on what you should wear. This could be worn for a multitude of dress codes- your shoes and bag is really how you differentiate. I would say this particular combination would be good for black tie optional. Had it been black tie, I would have switched the shoes to a more simple open toe shoe, and added a clutch. This dress is actually a dupe for the Self Portrait dress that everyone was wearing last year, and it’s easy to see why with how flattering it is. I always thought that a midi dress would be extremely unflattering on me, given my height (5’1″), but this dress was perfect for my height- so to my fellow short gals, don’t let the length of a midi dress scare you!

All of that being said, being a bridesmaid in 3 weddings within the span of 4 months was no easy feat, but I wouldn’t have traded it for the world. I love each woman dearly and consider them some of my closest friends. Being a bridesmaid is a selfless act and an act that shouldn’t be taken lightly. That bride has chosen you specifically to stand next to her on the most important day of her life. It’s expensive, hard work, and time consuming. But when you do it for someone you love, it makes the job seem easy. I love all my beautiful brides: Sarah, Kenzi, and Jenni!

xoxo,
