When people think of Miami, they think of white sand beaches, turquoise water, warmth, and lots and lots of sun. The day I took these photos wasn’t the case. I actually had to hold an umbrella between shots in order to attempt to stay somewhat dry, which ended up not even really working. My hair (that was curled) fell, my leather boots got wet, it was freezing, and all my photos seemed too dark to use. I was in a crummy mood and didn’t even want to continue shooting that day. I decided to take a little step back and ended up being able to go to lunch with my mom, which I never get to do considering she lives 3 hours away from me. Still in a bad mood, I had a tough time picking a restaurant and we ended up going to BJ’s Brewhouse, where I thought I would be limited to a salad, being gluten-intolerant and all. As I was looking through the menu, I started noticing all of these gluten-free items and desserts and thought to myself, “finally something something is going right.” Then, as I looked across the table at my mom, I realized I was in a bad mood because I was cold, hungry and frustrated, when I had all these amazing reasons to be in a wonderful mood. I have a mom that loves me to death, food on the table, warm clothes on my back, and an umbrella over my head. Have you ever caught yourself in a bad mood on a day where everything seems to be going wrong? I urge you, on those days, to take a step back and think about everything that is going right in your life- I’m sure that you have a lot more to be happy about than you realize.
Have a happy and wonderful Saturday, you deserve it.
